About the Community Car Service

This service exists mainly to provide transport for hospital and other health care appointments. Other journeys, shopping, visiting etc. may be provided at our discretion.

Transport is available to residents in the area shown below and journeys may be of any distance.

It is for people who do not qualify for non emergency patient transport (NEPT), who cannot drive themselves or do not have family or friends who are able to drive them to their appointment.

People on benefits or low income may be able to claim financial help with the cost of transport.

the charge for all journeys is 30p per mile, minimum charge is £3.50*

The charge is based on the return journey from the passengers home (irrespective of whether the passenger returns in the car) . All drivers have receipts to issue for cash payments.

All transport is provided by Volunteers using their own cars and giving their time freely.
No smoking is allowed in our vehicles.
