Transport Scheme - Travel Costs
Our transport scheme exists mainly to provide transport for hospital and other healthcare appointments. Other journeys may be provided at our discretion.
It is for people who do not qualify for hospital transport, who cannot drive themselves and do not have family and friends who are able to drive them to their appointment.
From 1st April 2008, the charge for all journeys will be 20p per mile, minimum charge is £2.00 The charge is based on the return journey from the passengers home (irrespective of whether the passenger returns in the car).

Payment should be made to the driver at the time of the journey.
County Council concessionary tokens can be accepted as payment. People on benefits or low incomes may be able to claim financial help with these costs from the Benefits Agency.
